1 Dead After Tree Falls Onto To Car in Pacific Beach, San Diego

A person in a passing car died after a giant tree fell onto the car and three others in San Diego’s Pacific Beach neighborhood, the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department confirmed.

The incident happened on the 3900 block of Ingraham Street. The large oak tree, eight feet in diameter, fell across the street and crushed four cars. Three of those cars were parked and a third was driving by at the time.

A woman in the passing car driving by was killed as the tree fell.

Late Sunday night, crews worked on cutting up the tree to clear the road. All four lanes of the street are blocked as officials investigate. The area is expected to be blocked late into Sunday night.
