PHOENIX – Two people have been detained for questioning related to the investigation into the multiple shootings along Arizona freeways.
Marked and unmarked Arizona Department of Public Safety vehicles converged on a silver Tahoe in a complex parking lot near 107th Avenue and Indian School Road.
A state police spokesman told ABC15 and the Associated Press that the situation is related to the shooting investigations, but did not immediately provide any additional details.
A woman was reportedly in the driver’s seat and a man was in the passenger seat when they were detained.
Authorities have been investigating at least 11 confirmed shooting incidents over the last two weeks on Interstate 10, Interstate 17, State Route 51 and Loop 202.
DPS has urged the public to remain vigilant and to stay alert and to contact authorities if they see anything suspicious. Silent Witness is also offering a $20,000 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of the alleged shooter or shooters.
