TUSCALOOSA, Alabama — Authorities in Tuscaloosa have charged four men with rape in connection with an alleged sexual assault of a 22-year-old woman.
Donald King, 20, Eddie Harris Jr. 19, Fredrick Shaw, 18, and DeAndre Dussett, 25, are each charged with first-degree rape. Dussett, who’s being held in the county jail on a $40,000 bond, also faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
King, Harris and Shaw are each being held on $30,000 bonds.
Statement from the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit:
On 10/6/15 at approximately 10 am Homicide Investigators were dispatched to 5500 block of Old Montgomery Highway in reference to a possible sexual assault. Upon arrival Investigators learned that the victim, a 22 year old black female, was transported to DCH and was unresponsive.
Witnesses reported that they found the victim unresponsive in an apartment. Investigators spoke to witnesses that stated the victim was knowingly drinking a beverage which had a controlled substance in it with some friends on the previous date at that location. Witnesses stated the victim later passed out in the bedroom of Donald King, a 20 year old black male. Witnesses also stated Donald King, a 20 year old black male, Eddie Harris Jr., a 19 year old black male, Fredrick Shaw, an 18 year old black male, and DeAndre Dussett, a 25 year old black male, all had sex with the victim while she was unconscious. Investigators located and interviewed parties involved in the alleged sexual assault. The suspects admitted to having sex with the victim. The victim was admitted to DCH for overnight monitoring. The victim’s condition is not believed to be life threatening. The listed subjects were each charged with Rape 1st Degree and booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail on $30,000 bonds each. Deandre Dussett was also charged with Possession of a Controlled substance and was held with an additional $10,000.00 bond.
Dussett may possibly be charged with other charges by the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force at a later time.
