Andie MacDowell Gets Swift Backlash After Complaining of Being Bumped From 1st Class

Andie MacDowell was Angry MacDowell after a “bad egg” airline employee bumped her from first class to coach this week.

The “Sex, Lies and Videotape” star shared a cheerful selfie Friday evening with three fellow economy-class passengers, followed by a string of tweets demanding reimbursement for American Airlines’ failure to deliver the experience she’d paid for.

“HELP I paid for first class & they put me in tourist because of my dog that I pre-booked & paid for,” she wrote of her flight from Charlotte to Myrtle Beach.

The employee who’d reassigned her seat was “the rudest person I have ever had to deal with,” she added.

“There was no excuse why the guy would not just let me ask someone to change seats he had a power trip,” MacDowell said. “He said take the seat or don’t get on my plane I was there early to ask for help and from the moment I met him he was rude.”

The 57-year-old “Cedar Cove” actress fought off skeptics who called her an “elitist” and blasted her for carping over “first-world problems.”

“Actually had great company but I paid for something I didn’t get,” she replied to one critic.

“I’m sorry if it sounded that way I’m happy taking a bus and preferred dirt roads it’s the principle,” she told another.

Besides, MacDowell added, she wants to donate her reimbursement money to the Charleston children’s literacy organization she was in town to support.

The L’Oreal Paris spokeswoman had had another brush-up with the airline just days earlier.

“You lost $1300 first class flyer I’m taking Delta because you couldn’t give me a fee in economy & then first, seriously?” she tweeted at the company last Saturday.
