Eagles of Death Metal have taken to social media for the first time following the terrorist attack at their Nov. 13 concert at Paris’ Le Bataclan venue.
The band stated via its official Facebook account that at least some of the band are safe, but all members of their entourage have not yet been accounted for:
“We are still currently trying to determine the safety and whereabouts of all our band and crew. Our thoughts are with all of the people involved in this tragic situation.”
At approximately the same time, the official Eagles of Death Metal Twitter account tweeted a screenshot of the same message.
A witness told France24 about the scene at the venue:
I didn’t realize what was going on — was on the first floor of the venue — we were listening to the music then all of a sudden we heard gunshots — they were quite high pitched. At first I thought it was a joke. I didn’t actually believe. But the shots kept going and going and going, and people started screaming and ducking behind the seats. That [was] when I realized I had to get out.
