Steve Harvey just took a very deep breath.

Best Picture presenter Warren Beatty named La La Land as the night’s big winner, and producer Jordan Horowitz took the stage to give his acceptance speech.


“There’s a lot of love in this room,” he said. “And let’s use it to create and champion bold and diverse work … toward empathy.”

But as his colleagues began taking their turns, Horowitz returned to the mic to say: “There’s been a mistake. Moonlight won.”

And then, contained pandemonium ensued.
