Blackberry Farm Owner Sam Beall Dies at 39 in Skiing Accident

Sam Beall, the owner of BlackBerry Farm in Walland died Thursday during a skiing accident in Colorado, according the public relations company for Blackberry Farm.

Beall was 39, a husband and a father of five. Family said they are making arrangements for his memorial and funeral.

“The Beall family and the Blackberry Farm team are understandably shocked by this heartbreaking news about the man they loved dearly as a son, brother, father, friend and host,” said Blackberry Farm in a statement. “They welcome the thoughts and prayers of all those whose lives were touched by Sam’s hospitable nature, visionary leadership and adventurous spirit.”

The family said they are requesting privacy after Beall’s death.

Beall was born at Blackberry Farm, a luxury hotel and event destination in the Great Smoky Mountains.
