Chaos at LAX Airport as Unconfirmed Reports of Shooting Force Evacuations

The scene at Los Angeles International Airport turned into bedlam on Sunday night when reports of a shooter inside one of the terminals sent travelers running out of buildings and, for some, onto the tarmac.

But reports would later indicate that no shots had been fired at the airport, even as thousands evacuated.

Still, chaos reigned as police tried to get a handle on the situation at the sprawling airport late Sunday night.

Eventually, a ground stop was instituted because of police activity at the airport as the investigation, and evacuations, continued.
