Deadpool 2 Eyeing Mackenzie Davis For Domino, Kyle Chandler For Cable

In the after-credits scene of 20th Century Fox’s superhero blockbuster Deadpool, the Merc with a Mouth promised that Cable (Nathan Christopher Charles Summers), the powerful mutant with a messiah complex, would appear in the sequel, and in February, it was reported that Domino (Neena Thurman), a skilled soldier and expert markswoman, would appear as well. With filming on Deadpool 2 set to begin early next year, fans are dying to know which actors will play those roles.

Now, Mashable’s Jeff Sneider has offered up a name for each role. “People were talking about Cable from Deadpool 2. There’s been a name floating around for Cable for months,” Sneider said during Meet the Movie Press. “Hasn’t changed. Don’t know if its changed. Didn’t make any calls about this. This was just the name that has been out there for months. So take this with a gigantic grain of salt. The biggest grain of salt your tiny little brain can imagine. The name that is floating around for Cable right now is Kyle Chandler.”

Chandler, 50, is best known for his roles in films like Super 8, Zero Dark Thirty, The Wolf of Wall Street and Carol, as well as starring in television shows such as the Netflix original series Bloodline and Friday Night Lights, which he won an Emmy in 2011 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

As for Domino, he said, “The name for Domino, who is said to be the scene-stealer of the movie, is Mackenzie Davis.”

Davis, 29, has been on the rise of late, nabbing key roles in The Martian and the Blade Runner sequel, as well as starring in the TV series Halt and Catch Fire.
