A Disney representative has confirmed that a fire broke out at the Festival of the Lion King Theater at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at approximately 4:15pm.

The show, performed at the Harambe Theatre, which was in the midst of the 4pm performance was evacuated. The rest of the shows for the day were cancelled, and it is possible that the cancellations will extend into tomorrow.

Social media reports indicate that the Simba float started smoking during the show with no flames visible. The fire was extinguished by stagehands with fire extinguishers. No damage was reported, but incident related debris remained.
