Former Star Wars Actor May Return to Movie Franchise

Hayden Christensen, the actor who played young Anakin Skywalker in Episodes I and II, may appear in Episode VIII as the infamous Darth Vader. Although the beginning of the new trilogy, Episode VII: The Force Awakens, won’t be released until December, Episode VII is currently in the works, and although there is no confirmed information about the episode, rumors are already starting to circulate.

Although there has been mixed reviews about Christensen’s performance in the prequel trilogy, it is hard to imagine anyone else reprising the role of an icon, considering many of the saga’s original cast members will be reprising their roles for upcoming film.

Yet as we saw in the updated release of Episode VI: Retis-anakin-skywalker-is-still-alive-in-star-wars-episode-vii-the-force-awakens-389129urn of the Jedi, we see a CGI ghost of Anakin Skywalker. And towards the end of the film his son Luke and daughter Leia burn his body.

BUT.. in the second trailer of Episode VII, we see Darth Vader’s helmet. So we just may have to wait and see for a these questions to be answered.

The not yet titled eighth episode is set to be released in 2017.
