Police say a man rammed an unmarked police car before he was fatally shot by a Maryland State Police trooper in Frederick.
According to police, a state trooper stopped at a Sheetz gas station in Frederick to get something. When the trooper came back outside, he noticed an SUV and decided to run its license plate number.
The tag matched a car that was stolen out of Baltimore City Sunday night, according to state police.
The trooper called for backup, and among those responding to the scene was a Frederick City police officer in an unmarked car.
The driver of the suspected stolen vehicle backed into that unmarked car then got out of the SUV where he was shot by the trooper, state police said.
