Gems Worth Assessed 19 Million Stolen in Cannes Cartier Heist

PARIS — Veiled looters have stolen an expected 19 million Dollars value of gems during an armed heist of a Cartier boutique in the French Riviera city of Cannes.

Four thieves touched base at the Cartier store on the celebrated Croisette promenade late Monday morning. Three entered the building and took a few coordinating arrangements of adornments, including armlets and pieces of jewelry, while the fourth held up in a getaway auto.

Police were examining security footage.

Gem dealers and creators utilize the film celebration as a showcase, crediting high-esteem pieces to performing artists and models to hotshot on celebrity lane.

A spate of adornments heists damaged the celebration two years prior. A jewel accessory worth $2.6 million vanished during a superstar party, and $1.4 million value of jewels were stolen from a hotel safe.
