Glen Rose, Texas Mother Arrested For Burning 2-Year-Old in Oven

A Glen Rose mother is in jail, charged with injury to a child.

The Somervell County Sheriff says 35-year-old Tasha Hatcher told deputies she put her two-year-old daughter in the oven.

The sheriff’s office says the child is being treated at Parkland Hospital.

Family members say she has second and third degree burns. A friend, who asked we not use her name, says many in Glen Rose are shocked. They say Hatcher appeared to be an attentive and loving mother.

A spokesperson for Child Protective Services confirms the agency has taken custody of the girl. Her uncle says he and other relatives are not allowed to have any contact with the girl during the investigation.

Hatcher is being held on $300,000 bond.
