Golden State Warriors Teammates Prank Festus Ezeli Ahead of April Fools’ Day

Andre Iguodala may have just won April Fools’ Day — a few days early.

The Warriors swingman, with the help of Lyft, pulled off an incredible prank to convince teammate Festus Ezeli that he was getting cut from the team.

Shortly after Ezeli jumped into a Lyft car, the driver turned on what appears to be a fake sports radio talk show where the hosts were discussing Ezeli. “Two sources close to the Warriors say backup center Festus Ezeli will be released,” one of the fake hosts says. Ezeli’s face, as he realized what they were reporting, shows that the shock is just beginning to register.

Iguodala, meanwhile, can’t hold it together as he’s watching from another vehicle.

Then, in the meanest twist to the prank, all of Ezeli’s teammates texted him.

Finally, Iguodala ends the prank by meeting him at the door of his car with balloons and a cake, which Ezeli promptly smashes onto his head, before eating a bite.
