Hall County, Georgia: Sheriff Deputy Wounded in SWAT Standoff with Murder Suspect

Update: 5:15 p.m. Barrow County Sheriff’s Office says the standoff has ended and the area is secure. More info will be released later.

Barrow County SWAT has been on the scene Friday afternoon at a standoff with a murder suspect in the Melinda Drive area, where a deputy suffered a gunshot wound.

The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office said the deputy was hit as Hall County deputies were attempting to serve an arrest warrant.

The injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Authorities said on Facebook around 3:45 p.m. that residents should stay clear of the area.
