It’s safe to say this family won’t be having breakfast for a while.
A teenager recently opened up about her experience finding a dead bat in her Rice Krispies while pouring the cereal into a container.
According to the Daily Record in Scotland, Sehr Rafique found the shriveled-up rodent at the bottom of the box, underneath the bag of cereal.
“Everyone came running down the stairs when they heard me scream. I have never seen anything like that before. The bat was definitely dead, but it has put me off eating Kellogg’s ever again.”
When Sehr’s father reported the incident, Kellogg’s offered nothing other than vouchers for a new box of cereal, she said.
“It’s a bit of an insult to be offered another box of cereal when the complaint is about a box of cereal. Bats can carry all sorts of diseases. It’s not the sort of thing you expect to find in food ,” she told the Record.
A Kellogg’s spokesman said: “Kellogg’s adheres to very strict food safety rules that ensure our products are of the highest quality.
“We are taking this complaint seriously and have been in constant contact with Ms. Rafique.”
