Kanye West Makes His Instagram Debut – See His First Post

Kanye West is officially an Instagrammer.

The 39-year-old star took to Instagram for the very first time to share a photo with his 419,000 (and climbing) followers on Sunday.

The post doesn’t show his Instagram-famous wife Kim Kardadshian West or his kids, but is shot of a person (potentially Yeezy?) driving a car. The captionless image is somewhat out of character for the outspoken rapper and designer, who has made headlines for his controversial tweets in the past.

In March, West shared his thoughts about getting an Instagram account via Twitter. “On another note… I was thinking about getting an Instagram but only on one condition……,” he wrote, later tweeting, “no one can ask me or try to tell me what to Instagram… It’s my art… ”

All of these statements, however, contradict what West told his Twitter followers on Wednesday: “I got rid of my phone so I can have air to create.”

Perhaps he is Instagramming on an iPad?

West continues his Saint Pablo tour on Tuesday with a show in Houston, Texas.
