Jackson County is getting ready for the “Big Bang Event” Saturday.
More than 20,000 people are expected to be in attendance to watch the largest firework in the U.S. be shot off at Longview Lake.
The 24” shell weighs more than 150 pounds and is expected to go 1,800 to 2,000 feet in the air.
When it comes back down it is expected to look like a weeping willow tree that is 2,500 feet wide.
One of the people constructing the shell told FOX 4’s Rob Collins that the boom is expected to be so large that it will shake cars hard enough to set off their alarms.
