Man Arrested with 2 Handguns at a Hotel Near Disneyland Paris

A French police official says a man allegedly found to be carrying two handguns was arrested Thursday at a hotel near Disneyland Paris, according to media reports.

The 28-year-old man was initially detained by hotel security whenhe came to reserve a room and his suitcase was x-rayed, according to France Info.

According to investigators, the man was not known to the French security forces previously, RTL reports.

The official said no one was injured during the arrest, but couldn’t provide further details, the Associated Press reports. The official wasn’t authorized to be publicly named according to police policy.

There are several hotels around Disneyland Paris, which is east of the French capital and is among Europe’s most-visited tourist attractions.

France remains under a state of emergency since Islamic extremist attacks around Paris killed 130 people in November.
