Man Climbs Macy’s Christmas Tree Seattle Downtown, Hurls Apple at Medics

Seattle police and firefighters are responding to Stewart Street and Third Avenue to trying to help down a man who has apparently climbed a tall tree.

The man is in an 80-foot tall Sequoia tree in a street median by the downtown Macy’s. His condition was not immediately known.

Police have also sent negotiators to the scene. Police say in a tweet the man is refusing to speak to officers and has thrown an apple at fire department medics.

Some streets in the area are closed due to the emergency response.
