Man Takes Hostages In Paris Suburban Home After Killing a Police Officer

A man is reportedly holed up in a Paris suburban home with hostages after killing a policeman.

The officer was killed by multiple stab wounds outside his home in Magnanville, in the Yvelines tonight, according to French media reports.

Elite RAID police officers are at the scene and have set up a security perimeter.

In November 2015 RAID took part in operations at the Bataclan theatre in Paris, where 90 people were killed during a series of bombings, shootings and hostage taking by ISIS extremists.

Officers from the unit also launched a follow-up operation in Saint-Denis where Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the ‘mastermind’ of the attacks, was killed in a firefight.
