Mecosta County, Michigan: Body Found Outside Church Treated as Homicide

REMUS, Mich. – Michigan State Police say they’re treating the case of a body found outside a Mecosta County church as a homicide.

Authorities told 24 Hour News 8 a passerby discovered a man’s body in the yard of the chapel at St. Michael Catholic Church, located at 8929 50th Ave. in Remus around 8 a.m. Friday.

Crime scene investigators were called to the scene just before noon Friday.

It’s unclear what led to the man’s death.

Authorities said they’re treating the case as a homicide because they don’t have any information indicating otherwise.  However, they said they just began their investigation.
