Men’s Team USA Basketball Wins Gold Over Serbia

While this group of NBA All-Stars did not dominate in the same fashion as their predecessors, the 2016 USA Men’s Basketball team took home gold over Serbia. In a 96-66 rout, Team USA claims their third straight gold medal and caps off a display of domination from the US in the Summer Olympics.

Kevin Durant led the way with 30 points. For Carmelo Anthony, this is his final olympic game and he capped it off with seven points and seven rebounds.

After a shaky group stage, Team USA’s defense improved rapidly going into the Gold Medal game. Serbia shot 38% from the field and 17% from the 3-point-line.

Coach K leaves Team USA undefeated in international play. The win ends the Olympics for the United States at 46 gold medals and 121 total.
