Actor Mike Smith of “Trailer Park Boys” was arrested Friday for domestic battery.
“Trailer Park Boys” star Michael Smith was arrested Friday morning after allegedly choking a woman.
The actor, who plays Bubbles on the Netflix show, was placed behind bars on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery and released hours later, authorities told TMZ.
The Nova Scotia native was in an escalating argument with a woman at a bathroom located near a pool at Hollywood’s Roosevelt Hotel. Sources told the gossip site the fight appeared to stem over text messages Smith was sending.
The actor reportedly assaulted a female companion.
The female was heard yelling “you’re choking me!” an insider recalled.
When witnesses ran in to help, they allegedly saw the 43-year-old pinning the woman up against the bathroom wall.
Smith was a breakout character on the Canadian series, which premiered on Showcase in 2001 and was rebooted by Netflix in 2014.
Smith is known for playing spectacle-wearing Bubbles on the show.
Based on a 1999 film, it follows the troubles of a group of trailer park residents living in the fictional Sunnyvale Trailer Park in Nova Scotia.
