A passenger train crashed into the back of a goods train in the Belgian town of Hermalle-sous-Huy late on Sunday and there were casualties, a spokesman for the Belgian railway infrastructure manager Infrabel said.
“Two trains were on the same track. The passenger train crashed into the back of the goods train,” the spokesman, Frederic Sacre, was quoted as saying by Belga news agency.
The crash caused a violent shock, the spokesman said, adding there were casualties, but gave no details. He said local emergency services and reinforcements from the nearest city of Liege were at the site of the crash.
