NFL Tackle Brennan Williams Leaves For WWE

It’s a tale as old as time and no, it isn’t that Disney movie. It’s the story of a versatile athlete who leaves the sport that got him to the bright lights for another sport that he secretly (or not so secretly) loves. Such is the case for young Brennan Williams, former NFL pro tackle and WWE fanatic. If he wasn’t talking about a Sunday game on social media then he was talking about a Sunday night pay per view event from the wrestling world. Having been a fan of the squared circle for some time this decision must not have been too hard to make.

Williams came into the league as a third round draft pick for the Houston Texans back in 2013. Having been bounced around to the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New England Patriots and ultimately let go due to injury issues. It’s assumed that he will enter a development program with the WWE before being moved up to their performance center early next year. It’s also speculated that Williams will be trained by none other than WWE Hall of Fame member Booker T.

The success story of such a transition is few and far in between, but when it works it produces some blockbuster entertainment value for wrestling fans. Here’s hoping Brennan Williams can add his name to some of those greats.
