One Direction’s Liam Payne Signs Solo Record Deal

Liam Payne has made it official: He is his own man.

Payne is just the latest of the One Direction lads to go solo, striking out on his own with a separate recording contract, making their current hiatus seem less and less temporary.

Payne broke the news via Twitter, announcing that he’d signed a deal with Capitol Records’ U.K. division. The news comes one month after it was announced that bandmate Harry Styles had signed a solo deal with Columbia Records, the label that also releases One Direction’s work.

The question now stands: Who will be the last One Direction member without a solo contract, Niall Horan or Louis Tomlinson?
