Police Identify Suspect in Citadel Mall Strong Arm Robbery

Police have issued a warrant for the suspect in a strong arm robbery that occurred between acquaintances about 7:45 p.m. on Friday, March 4 at the Citadel Mall in West Ashley.

Officials have issued a warrant for Tyshawn Niashay Brown, 32, of Dewsbury Lane in North Charleston. If you have any information about Brown, please call consolidated dispatch at 843-743-7200 and ask for the on-call CPD detective.

The incident occurred while the victim was walking out of a store in Citadel Mall. She was approached by a woman she knew; who spoke with the victim and then sprayed her in the face with pepper spray.

The victim fell to the ground and dropped her purse. Money fell out of her purse and the suspect picked up the money and left the scene.

The victim was transported to MUSC where she was treated and released.
