Pregnant 18 Year-Old Girl Shot to Death in Ensley, Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —A teenager was shot and killed Monday night at a home in the Ensley neighborhood of Birmingham, police said.

Birmingham Police Lt. Sean Edwards said officers were called to a home on Eighth Court West around 10 p.m. Monday. Officers found Nakia Harris, 18, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Harris was pregnant.

Her boyfriend told police that he had gone outside to his vehicle when he heard a gunshot inside the home.

He was taken to the police administration building for further questioning.
