Pulaski County Arkansas: Robinson Middle School Student Dies After Passing Out

An eighth-grade female student died Tuesday after becoming unconscious in the Joe T. Robinson Middle School gym, according to the Pulaski County Special School District.

According to a statement, “multiple adults” were present at the time the student became unconscious. A spokesman with the district said officials attempted to revive the student before she was transported to a local hospital.

“The district wants to respect the privacy of the family and is limiting its comments,” district spokesman Deborah Roush said in the statement. “Right now, the focus of the district, school and Robinson community is on supporting this family as well as the staff and students at the middle school.”

The student’s name has not been released, and an investigation is ongoing into the cause of death.

Roush said additional counselors are available at the middle school for the remainder of the week.
