Rockbridge County, Virginia: Warrants Issued For Man Who Opened Fire at Police


Rockbridge County sheriff’s deputies are continuing their search for an “armed and dangerous man” south of Buena Vista and have released the charges against him via the agency’s Facebook page.

William Evan Hall, 35, has been charged with attempted capital murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, shooting at a law enforcement vehicle and eluding a law enforcement officer.

According to the Facebook post, Hall was in the U.S. 501 area south of Buena Vista when an undisclosed incident occurred, which led to the charges. A message left with dispatchers for Rockbridge County sheriff’s investigators was not returned Sunday.

Officers describe Hall as a 6-foot-tall white man who weighs 175 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing jeans, a gray hoodie and a gray jacket, but the sheriff’s office said he may have changed into tan overalls..
