Singer Kehlani posted a photo from a hospital bed Monday night, following what appeared to be a suicide attempt.
The R&B star faced scrutiny this week after rapper PARTYNEXTDOOR posted a photo of Kehlani to Instagram, prompting speculation that she may have cheated on boyfriend and Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving.
Kehlani broke her silence about the rumors Monday night, posting an Instagram photo of her hospital IV alongside a message about the vicious speculation’s effect on her mental health.
“I wanted to leave this Earth. Being completely selfish for once. Never thought I’d get to such a low point,” she wrote. (The post has since been deleted.)
“Don’t believe the blogs you read. No one was cheated on and I’m not a bad person,” she added. “God saved me for a reason, and for that…I must be grateful.. Cuz I’m not in heaven right now for a reason.”
Kehlani has since deleted, then reactivated her Instagram account — but it remains blank.
Twitter users are showing support for the singer with the hashtag #StayStrongKehlani.
