Teenager Shot, Killed Outside Western Branch High School in Chesapeake, Virginia

A 19-year-old man was shot in front of Western Branch High School this evening, police said.


At around 5:50 p.m., Chesapeake police responded to reports of a shooting at the school at 1968 Bruin Place, according to a news release.

Witnesses said they saw the 19-year-old running in front of the school in the parking lot, in need of assistance.

The victim was transported to Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center where he died from his injuries, said spokeswoman Dorienne Boykin.

Police are investigating and do not know the circumstances of the shooting.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of his family.
