Univision Host Rodner Figueroa Fired After Racist Comment towards Michelle Obama





Rodner Figueroa ganador premio Emmy y anfitrión de Univision ha sido despedido por comentarios que hizo en el aire sobre la primera dama Michelle Obama.
Figueroa dijo Obama parecía que era parte del elenco de “El Planeta de los Simios” en una crítica de sus opciones de maquillaje y moda. Él hizo los comentarios el miércoles pasado en el programa de “El Gordo y La Flaca”.
En un comunicado Univision dijo Figueroa, un veterano de la red de 17 años, fue despedido de inmediato. Univision dijo que las declaraciones de Figueroa fueron “totalmente reprobable y de ninguna manera refleja los valores de Univision o puntos de vista.”
Presidente de Univision, Haim Saban es un importante contribuyente al Partido Demócrata que es bien conocido por la administración de Obama. Según CNN, Figueroa emitió un comunicado el jueves afirmando que fue despedido después que la red recibió una denuncia de la oficina de la primera dama.

Figueroa said Obama looked like she was part of the cast of “Planet of the Apes” in a critique of her makeup and fashion choices. He made the comments Wednesday on Univision’s daytime entertainment gossip show “El Gordo y La Flaca.”
In a statement Univision said Figueroa, a 17-year network vet, was fired immediately. The Spanish-language giant said Figueroa’s remarks were “completely reprehensible and in no way reflect Univision’s values or views.”
Univision chairman Haim Saban is a major contributor to the Democratic Party who is well known to the Obama administration. According to CNN, Figueroa issued a statement Thursday asserting that he was fired after the network received a complaint from the first lady’s office.
