SANDUSKY, OH – Cedar Point’s newest roller coaster will begin diving through the skies in 2016.
The park announced Wednesday that Valravn, the world’s tallest, fastest and longest dive roller coaster will be the park’s latest addition to its 17 other coasters beginning the 2016 season.
How tall is the tallest dive coaster in the world? Valravn starts with a 223-foot climb to its first hill. Once there, the train pauses at the edge of the first drop for four seconds, giving riders a one-of-a-kind view. Next up is a a record 214 feet free-fall at a completely vertical, 90-degree angle, reaching a top speed of 75 mph.
Had enough? In addition to the heart-stopping drops, the ride flips riders over three times over the rest of the 3415 foot long journey.

If you want to be able to take a virtual ride on the coaster on your own, there’s a way to do that even before the ride opens. “For the first time ever, guests are able to take an immersive ride on Valravn before it opens next summer – and the actual experience will be unmatched with the tallest lift hill, fastest speed, longest track and most inversions on a dive coaster, right here at Cedar Point” says Jason McClure, vice president and general manager of Cedar Point.
