Geraldo Rivera accused Eric Bolling of making him “look stupid” on the Monday episode of The Five on Fox News. Rivera and Bolling were debating what exactly Iranians mean when they shout “death to America” and President Obama’s Iran nuke deal.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani claims that the “death to America” chants are not directed at the American people. On The Five episode, Geraldo Rivera said he is “reasonably confident” that the Iran nuclear deal will hold and offered his opinion on the shouts by young Iranians.
The Republican host of The Five asked Rivera if he thought that the United States shot down Iran Air Flight 655 on purpose, BizPac Review notes.
“Why do you say something stupid like that? That’s like stupid! You said that to make me look stupid and I don’t like it! I don’t like it,” Rivera shouted back as an answer to Bolling’s question.
“Our people respect the American people,” President Hassan Rouhani said when attempting to explain what the “death to America” chants really meant. “The Iranian people are not looking for war with any country. But at the same time, the policies of the United States have been against the national interests of Iranian people, it’s understandable that people will demonstrate sensitivity to this issue.”
