Down by eight points with less than eight minutes to go, the Pelicans needed to stop Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard, who was in the midst of another big game.
New Orleans center Kendrick Perkins did that … literally. With Lillard driving toward the basket, Perkins took him to the hardwood with a clothesline.
It’s not known if Perkins meant to take down the two-time all-star so aggressively, but Lillard’s teammates didn’t take too kindly to the act and scuffling between the two squads ensued. Perkins was ejected while Lillard finished the game with 33 points and eight boards on the way to a 117-112 Trail Blazers win.

Perkins isn’t unfamiliar to altercations and ejections. The big man was ejected after failing to bite his tongue during an argument with Memphis Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph in 2012.
Perkins shoved Jae Crowder to the ground during a 2015 playoff game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics.
He also hard fouled Detroit’s Jason Maxiell in 2009.
