VIDEO Rosie Perez Breaks Down While Announcing Resignation from ‘The View’

Rosie Perez gave a tearful goodbye on “The View” Wednesday.

She emerged on stage to roaring applause that instantly caused her to begin crying as her co-hosts — Whoopi Goldberg and Nicolle Wallace as well as newcomers Raven-Symone and Michelle Collins, who officially joined the show as host on Wednesday, rallied around her for a group hug.

Symone ran off stage to grab tissues for Perez before she announced her resignation.

“This is yours to do,” Goldberg told her.

“Well you guys all heard it, I’ve decided that it’s time to move on,” Perez, 50, said with tears streaming down her face.

“Today is very bittersweet for me,” she continued. “I’m excited for what is to come, but I’m so sad to leave ‘The View,’ the staff, the producers, ABC, and especially these two ladies.”

She pointed to veteran host, Goldberg, and Wallace, who she joined the show with last fall.
