West Virginia Ravenswood High School’s Band Director Arrested on Sexual Abuse Charges

RAVENSWOOD, W.Va. — Ravenswood High School’s band director has been charged in a sex abuse case.

A criminal complaint in Jackson County Magistrate Court charges Nathaniel Martin Corathers of Sandyville with sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, custodian or person in a position of trust, and soliciting a minor by computer.

According to WCHS-TV, the complaint says Jackson County sheriff’s deputies met with a 15-year-old female band student’s parents Sunday. The parents become concerned over text messages sent between their daughter and the 28-year-old Corathers since the summer.

On Monday, deputies interviewed the girl, who alleged she sent nude photos to Corathers and that the pair had been in a sexual relationship.

Corathers was held Tuesday in the South Central Regional Jail. Jail records didn’t indicate whether he has an attorney.
