Zayn Malik: New Album and Gigi Hadid

Zayn Malik has been in the headlines lately for many things. First of all, the older news is that he had broken off his engagement with Perrie Edwards.

Then we all pondered the fact that he left One Direction, and the theories I heard on that one were countless. Anyway, then Gigi Hadid and his name were joint, mentioned together, and speculated upon. Lastly, we scrutinize him on his new album. Not to worry, he has apparently even released the name of the album.

“Mind of Mine” will be Malik’s first album that he is releasing from his departure from One Direction, which certainly was not a departure from the spotlight.

His first single, “Pillowtalk,” as an artist alone and not part of a boyband, will be released tomorrow, and apparently a music video will be released along with it. My main question, my pressing question, is, what exactly will his album sound like? In other words, I want to be able to compare his sound to some other known artist. Of course, as I believe no two artists can produce the exact same sound.

I have read before that his sound will be more of an R&B type of sound, rather than One Direction’s sound, that is usually categorized as mainstream pop, or according to Zayn, “generic.”

What is going on with his personal life, if we do dare to be so intrusive? Well, according to Corinne Heller at, in an interview with Zane Low, host of Apple Music’s Beats 1, he did not confirm or deny anything about his relationship with Gigi Hadid. He only said that they are “good friends.”

Malik is also reported to have expressed the fact that he never wanted to pursue his place in One Direction.
