Zendaya to Play Mary Jane Watson in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’

The web of theories around  Zendaya’s super-secret “Spider Man” casting can finally come to a rest.

The former Disney star will reportedly take on the role of Mary Jane Watson in the upcoming “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” according to The Wrap.

The character is familiar to viewers of the 2002 to 2007 Sam Raimi trilogy, which starred starring Tobey Maguire as the titular character and Kirsten Dunst as love interest Mary Jane.

The 19-year-old’s casting in the Sony superhero reboot was announced in March but her part was kept  tightly under wraps. She was originally simply said to be playing a character named Michelle.

The teen will appear opposite British actor Tom Holland, who will take on the role of a young Peter Parker, a.k.a Spider Man.

Zendaya is best known for her time on the Disney Channel show, “Shake It Up!”

She will join a star-studded cast, which includes comedian Hannibal Buress, actress Marisa Tomei and actor Michael Keaton in a villainous role.

The Jon Watts directed flick will swing into theaters on July 7, 2017.
