Actor Cameron Boyce, who starred in the Disney Channel’s television shows and series, has died at age 20.
A spokesperson for his family told CNN that Boyce died in his sleep after a seizure resulting from an ongoing medical condition.
“It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron,” the spokesperson said. “He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.”
“The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him. We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother,” the family said in a statement.
Boyce starred in “Jessie,” a television show about a small town girl, played by Debby Ryan, working as a nanny for a wealthy family after moving to New York City. Boyce was one of the children she cared for.
“From a young age, Cameron Boyce dreamed of sharing his extraordinary artistic talents with the world,” a Disney Channel spokesperson said.
“He was an incredibly talented performer, a remarkably caring and thoughtful person and, above all else, he was a loving and dedicated son, brother, grandson and friend. We offer our deepest condolences to his family, castmates and colleagues and join his many millions of fans in grieving his untimely passing. He will be dearly missed.”
A veteran actor at 19
Boyce was born and raised in Los Angeles, and was dubbed an old soul by those who knew him, according to Disney Channels’ biography of him.
“His love of performing began in a dance studio, which then transitioned him into commercials, and not long after television and film,” the channel says.

Boyce also starred in “Mirrors,” “Eagle Eye” alongside Shia LaBeouf and “Grown Ups” with Adam Sandler. In “Descendants,” he played Cruella De Vil’s teenage son, Carlos.
By the time he was 19, Boyce was “already a veteran to show business,” Disney says.
He was a passionate advocate
Boyce was set to appear in the comedy series “Mrs. Fletcher,” which is set to hit HBO this fall.
He was also cast in the leading role of Cal in the indie feature, “Runt,” according to his biography.
Boyce was involved in many philanthropic causes, according to the channel. It said he was mostly involved with the Thirst Project, a nonprofit that provides communities with safe drinking water.

“Too young. Too sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around. Loved that kid,” wrote Sandler. “Cared so much about his family. Cared so much about the world. Thank you, Cameron, for all you gave to us. So much more was on the way. All our hearts are broken.” Sandler concluded his message by sending his “deepest condolences” to Boyce’s “amazing family.”

It has been an indescribable honor and pleasure to know and work with him. I will see you again in all things loving and beautiful my friend. I will search the stars for your light. Rest In Peace Cam.”

Freeform defends Halle Bailey’s casting as Ariel in “The Little Mermaid”!
Just in case you haven’t heard, Halle Bailey is the new Ariel, in an upcoming “The Little Mermaid” movie! She has been receiving messages from fans and other celebrities, congratulating her for landing the role!
Amongst those who congratulated her is Halle Berry, in a tweet she posted, “In case you needed a reminder… Halles get it DONE. Congratulations @chloexhalle on this amazing opportunity, we can’t wait to see what you!” She also added that she was “thrilled” for the 19 year old. However, not everyone was happy about Disney’s decision to cast a black woman for this role.
Some critics went as far as petitioning Disney to recast for this role, and titled their petition #NotMyAriel! They suggested that Halle should be replaced by a white woman with red hair, who would resemble the Ariel that they know from the 1989 animated version of The Little Mermaid. Now Freeform, Disney’s cable network, has decided to issue an open letter in response to this.
The letter read, “Yes. The original author of The Little Mermaid was Danish. Ariel…is a mermaid. She lives in an underwater kingdom in international waters and can legit swim wherever she wants (even though that often upsets King Triton, absolute zaddy). But for the sake of argument, let’s say that Ariel, too, is Danish”.
Freeform also added that, “Danish mermaids can be black because Danish *people* can be black. Ariel can sneak up to the surface at any time with her pals Scuttle and the *ahem* Jamaican crab Sebastian (sorry, Flounder!) and keep that bronze base tight. Black Danish people, and this mer-folk, can also *genetically* (!!!) have red hair”! Freeform then went on to remind the critics that Ariel and the story, is only fictional!
Beyoncé is the New Nala! The Lion King Fans Are Not so Impressed!
Are you as much of a fan of both Beyonce and The Lion King as I am? I mean, Beyonce could sing the phone book and I would still think she sounds angelic! And as an African, I am bound to love The Lion King!
If you are at least a fan of either, Beyonce or The Lion King, I’m sure you already know that Beyonce stars as Nala in the latest Lion King movie. Now its trailer is already out, and it is set to hit the cinemas soon! There are also beautiful photos of the “Lion King” cast all over the internet. Have I already told you just how beautiful the photos are? If you would like to see them, check them out here!
Now the problem is that some Twitter users are not so happy with “Queen Bey” as Nala! Honestly, I personally wouldn’t find fault in anything that Beyonce does, but clearly, not everyone shares the same sentiments as myself! One critic claimed that Beyonce is being “too Beyonce”, I don’t even know what that means.
The critic tweeted, “It’s like something is off here, maybe the lions look too real for voice-overs. And I know Nala is Beyonce but it sounds very Beyonce. It’s so distracting…”! Another also posted, “Okay I’m going to be brave and say this but I don’t think I like Beyonce as Nala. I wish she had just done the soundtrack but her voice doesn’t suit Nala. Hope I’m wrong…”!
Another Twitter user suggested that Queen Bey should have tried to change her voice to suit the character, saying her voice is “too distinct for this. It doesn’t even sound like she attempted to change the sound of her voice for the character”.
Jay Smith of ’90 Day Fiancé’ Arrested, Faces Deportation Back to Jamaica
90 Day Fiancé‘s Jay (Conroy) Smith was arrested on Wednesday after violating a protection from abuse order his estranged wife Ashley Martson filed on Monday.
He is being held at York County Prison in Pennsylvania.
“On July 2, 2019, Upper Allen Police investigated a report of a PFA violation,” the report on the police department’s website reads.
“The protected party lives in Upper Allen Township and reported a social media post made by Smith, which was in violation of the order,” the report continues. “As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained for Smith. On July 3, 2019, Smith was taken into custody without incident.
“Smith was transported to the Cumberland County Prison for processing and arraignment. A hearing will be held at a later date.”
The Jamaica native reportedly turned himself in to police after an arrest warrant was issued for violating the protective order Martson filed on July 1.
The 21-year-old tattoo artist had been in the United States illegally after he wed the 32-year-old mother of two and she failed to file his adjustment of status.
On Wednesday night, Martson posted a photo of herself to Instagram, saying, “I’m setting the record straight about Jay’s deportation,” with the caption, “link in bio.”
She linked to her interview with Celebuzz! where she explained that she filed the Protection From Abuse (PFA) after she came home from vacation and reportedly found Smith had broken into her house.
She said filed the PFA to also prevent Smith from speaking about her on social media but after receiving it, he went straight to Instagram and violated the order put in place.
“I filed a PFA, and I took all the evidence in on Monday,” she said. “Jay was served at 7:10 PM on Monday, and it specifically said in there ‘you’re not allowed to talk about this PFA or Ashley at all on any social media platform.’”
Martson said that Smith went on social media “the very next day… and made a post [about her and the PFA].”
“Jay and I have a PFA hearing next Wednesday… and then he’ll go back to York Country Prison until he is seen by an immigration judge,” Martson told the outlet.
Martson said that it’s “a very sad situation overall… I’m not popping champagne bottles celebrating today.”
She continued: “It’s hard to sit here and think about how he’s sitting in a jail cell right now, but I also have to remember everything he put me through the past year.”
Martson and Smith got married in May 2018. She told the outlet she “filed for his green card and then I retracted it because he cheated on me again.”
The pair began dating during Season 6 of TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé‘. Martson met Smith while in Jamaica for a friend’s wedding.
In April she filed divorce papers, for the second time, in a Pennsylvania court, according to E! News.
Martson reportedly first filed for divorce from in January, eight months after getting married.
Two weeks after filing, Martson withdrew the paperwork, according to a Pennsylvania court.
Smith has not spoken publicly about his arrest as of this writing.
