Music in 2015, What I Look Forward to in 2016

What a year in music it has been in 2015! No matter what genre you listen to, you have seen the rise of many new artists in different sounds. If you like rock music, then you witnessed the rise of some really remarkable musical outfits like Elle King, with her really catchy hit song, “Exes and Oh’s,” and even X Ambassadors with their feel-good rock tune, “Renegades” or even James Bay, with his more folk-style, slow songs like “Hold Back the River” and “Let it Go.” All of these songs were some of my favorites this year! If you like indie music, you fell in love with Halsey, the new sensation in indie-pop music with her songs like “Ghost” and the hit “New Americana.” Other indie artists that have been on the scene released albums, like CHVRCHES, the synthrock/ synthpop group, who released the album Every Open Eye, which contains the songs “Leave a Trace” and “Empty Threat.” Indie rock band Walk the Moon also made it big with “Shut Up and Dance” and I liked their song “Different Colors.” Let’s not forget Taylor Swift and how she continued to top the charts in 2015 with her album, “1989” and its songs.

There are some lesser-known, newer artists on the rise too. If you like indie music, then you will want to delve into some of my new favorites, like Wet, who was featured on the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack and has songs like “Don’t Wanna Be Your Girl” and “You’re the Best.” Other of my indie favorites are definitely Halsey, whose album, Badlands, is in stores, James Bay, who is still on the rise, BANKS who I adore and have talked about before and who released a song, “Better” this year, and Oh Wonder, whose song, Landslide I am in love with.

Charlie Puth is on the rise in pop music and was featured on one of the most beloved songs of 2015 with Wiz Khalifa, “See You Again.” Justin Bieber has been back with his more mature, electronic sounding album, Purpose. Tove Lo has amazed me with her awesome music! I was in love with her song “Habits” and have been hooked on her other hit, “Talking Body,” for a long time as well.

FKA Twigs in worthy of giving a listen to in R&B music. Honestly though, the person whose music in general, overall, and in what will most likely be R&B from what I have heard, is Zayn Malik, who disbanded in 2015 from One Direction.

Lastly, I want to say R&B sensation the weekend had a monumental year with his album, Beauty Behind the Madness and Shawn Mendes at his young age of 16 really amused me with his catchy hit song, “Stitches.”

Why ignore pain until it can no longer be ignored?

Pain is the opposite of relief, people  tend to pacify it with simple ineffective solutions that subsequently compound the problem. it is our human nature to shine it off, unconcerned with the potential ramifications of allowing it to remain untreated, slowly progressing in its intensity pain forces you to take action at this point your nerve endings are on fire, your discomfort can no longer be ignored. your mobility is compromised,   eclipsed is your effectiveness, and your ability to complete day-to day simple tasks. you are not your normal self. we must evaluate our life choices big and small.this is a very humbling experience in the midst of my pain i cried out to God, he formed me with his own hands, he knows me best.

He has the power to heal us, he sent me several warnings to make changes in my life.out of stubbornness and ignorance I ignored his voice. God often uses different rods to discipline his wayward children, circumstances, pain, people, God wants the very best for us, he wants to guide and protect us from dangers seen and unseen, discipline is one of his means to accomplish his purposes in our lives. we often ignore his voice until  we feel discomfort, pain is a mega-phone, it captures our attention instantly our full undivided  attention. Pain exposes our deepest vulnerabilities, we can no longer hide, we must face the facts motivated by our suffering we would not attain otherwise, this broadens the scope of our understanding and the realization of the actual reality of the physical conditions of our bodies, and are bodies limitations. In the process we are taught through our sufferings respect, consideration, and care. I know in my heart I have to make some improvements today.
